FAQ

General questions

Rice husk is a natural waste material, created during the production of parabolic rice, and comprises natural protection of the edible part of this plant against moisture. This makes the Resysta composite material resistant to the damaging effects of moisture on wood.

Rice husk is a natural waste material, which unil now has had no application, and has been burnt, destroying the environment. By using rice husk in our material, we reduce the amount of pollution released into the atmosphere. Additionally, the durable, rice husk based composite not only protects forests as a wood substitute, but can also be used without any change of appearance or colour for many years, thanks to its properties. Once it has degraded, it will go through the recycling process and be re-used in production. Our materials not only reduce the degradation of the environment, but also thanks to their re-use are eco-friendly.

Facades

Both Croswood and Resysta materials do not contain wood, thanks to which they do not absorb water. They also do not swell, rot and delaminate. Thanks to their high mechanical resistance, and thermal stability, our products are made of durable composite resistant to everyday use. Moreover, using our products where it is possible, we save one of the Earth’s most valuable resources – wood.

The profiles we produce come with a 15-year material guarantee. Detailed conditions are presented in the Warranty Card available on our website under the tab:  download.

The materials used in our profiles are 100% recyclable. To protect the environment, we recommend that you return your waste directly to us. Once they have undergone a special process, they can be reused in production. They should not be thrown away or burned.

Marine/Yachts

The profiles we offer can not only look like exotic wood, but thanks to a special surface treatment, also imitate this type of material to the touch.

All the above-mentioned features of our composite materials contribute to durability with minimal maintenance. We offer durable composites that provide many years of use.

Basically, it can be said that low density together with weight leads to lower mechanical and chemical strength of the materials. Our composites have a higher density and weight than teak. However, due to its unparalleled resistance, you will use a thinner layer of our material than wood during construction. Thus, you can enjoy all the advantages that our profiles offer without increasing the weight of the yacht or ship you are building.

Our composites are 100% safe for health. The materials do not emit or release any substances that are hazardous to humans. CAUTION – CROSWOOD and Resysta materials should not be burnt.

Our profiles are worked in exactly the same way as wood, with the exception that we do not use nails in the case of composites. Due to the high hardness of our composite materials, the tools used for its treatment, such as drills, screws and milling cutters, for example, must have increased wear resistance. The installation of CROSWOOD and Resysta profiles is different from the installation of profiles made of wood and should always be done according to our installation instructions.

Decking

No, it is important to install composite decking profiles on top of the decking joists, as thermal expansion of the material can cause the profiles to bend or curve at the ends of the structure.

This is not required. Other installation joists can also be used for the substructure, however, care must be taken to ensure their strength and longevity. It is also important that the profiles, made of durable CROSWOOD or Resysta composite, are installed according to the instructions in the operating and installation manuals for the respective system.

PLEASE NOTE: we do not recommend the use of joists made of wood due to their significantly lower lifespan (compared to the composites offered by Croswood) and the fact that they cannot be impregnated after the installation of the decking profiles.

Both CROSWOOD and Resysta composite decking profiles can be used outdoors as well as indoors. Just make sure that they are installed in accordance with the instructions for use and installation.

The manufacturer provides a 15-year guarantee. Detailed warranty conditions can be found in the Warranty Card, located in the downloads section: download.

For installation we offer screws made of stainless steel. Any other screws available in shops can also be used. Due to the high resistance of profiles made of composite material, when selecting screws, attention should be paid to their strength and that they are as weather-resistant as possible.

Profiles made of CROSWOOD composite material are surface dyed and offered in 4 colours: teak, walnut, rosewood and anthracite in both the standard and PLUS versions.

Profiles made of RESYSTA composite material are surface-coloured and offered in our regular range of 30 colours.

The material composition of our profiles means that they do not absorb water. Normally, stains can be easily removed with a wet cloth or a strong jet of water (pressure washer).

Thanks to its unique properties, the durable CROSWOOD and Resysta composites do not absorb chlorinated, salt or fresh water. Water in any form does not adversely affect the appearance and degradation of the profiles. An important advantage of the profiles we offer are also its anti-slip properties. The wet surface of the profiles increases surface adhesion, making it safe to walk on wet surfaces. In addition, decking boards made of CROSWOOD and Resysta composite can be thermoformed at temperatures as low as approx. 110oC, giving them a shape adapted to the oval edges of swimming pools or hot tubs.
