A composite based on rice husk - unlimited possibilities

Profiles made of RESYSTA and CROSWOOD materials are extraordinarily similar to exotic wood, not only in their appearance, but also the feel. They are water-resistant and durable, which makes them suitable for every climate. These characteristics of our durable composite material open up countless possible applications: facades, modern decking, garden houses, fences, urban and garden furniture, yachts’ and boats’ decks are only a few of the already realised ideas. Other examples of outstanding projects using our material can be found here.

In the context of construction and finishing products, a composite material is understood to be one that contains a filler of natural origin. Manufacturers of composite materials and profiles usually base their products on a natural filler in the form of wood flour or, more general – cellulose. This type of products (referred to as WPC – Wood Polymer Composite) are extremely popular and available in almost every DYI shop. Their quality and physicochemical properties are directly dependent on the quality of the components used in their production and their proportions (the quantity of wood/cellulose flour in the profiles). The general rule of thumb is that the more natural filler the product contains, the better it imitates wood – both in the look and feel. Unfortunately, higher content of natural filler means more wood-like properties of the material, such as humidity absorption, which negatively affects the product’s durability.

Did you know that each year Central Europe records a temperature drop below 0℃ around 270 times? It is extremely crucial in the context of wood-based materials  – when the temperature drops below 0℃, the humidity that was absorbed changes its aggregate state into solid, increasing its volume in the process and breaking the material from the inside.

Our company specialises in the production of composite profiles and systems, which do not contain wood. Our products are made of materials that can be described as NFC – natural fiber composite. The filler that we use in production is a natural waste in the form of rice husk, which, unlike wood, is a material that does not absorb humidity; it is sometimes reffered to as natural silica.

Thanks to this fact we are able to deliver a product that perfectly imitates exotic wood (when the right colour is chosen), is eco-friendly and extremely resistant to the UV rays, rain, snow and water, including chlorinated and salt water.

Approximately 28mln hectares of forest are cut down globally each year. It means that every second, an amount of trees equivalent to the area of a football pitch disappears from the world.  In 2016 a record-breaking amount of 29,7mln hectares of forest was cut down – an area the size of Italy.  It is forecast that within 40 years an area of forest equivalent to the area of Europe will have disappeared. Cutting down forests is not only killing the “green lungs” of the Earth, but also depriving many plant and animal species of their natural habitat, without which they cannot survive. Cutting down forests also disrupts our planet’s water management and contributes to global warming.

Our offer includes profiles made of two types of composite materials based on rice husks.

RESYSTA and CROSWOOD (Standard or PLUS version).

Both materials have similar physicochemical properties and their installation methods are identical. What distinguishes them is their chemical composition and colour palette.

RESYSTA and CROSWOOD composite materials

Profiles made of RESYSTA material are painted with acrylic FVG-type pigments, and afterwards varnished with matte RFS varnish. Our offer includes around 30 different colours of the FVG paints. Additionally, it is possible to select a custom colour using RAL colour chart.

CROSWOOD products are mass-coloured, which means that the core of the profile is of the same colour that we can see on the surface. The main advantage of this is that if the profile is scratched, a different-looking structure will not appear.

Profiles of the CROSWOOD PLUS series are mass-coloured products that have been additionally coated with carefully-selected protective dyes (FVG& RFS), giving our products an unmatched appearance and providing UV colour stability that is unique among composite materials.

Bring colour into your world

Profiles made of CROSWOOD material are available in 4 carefully-selected colours: teak, walnut, rosewood and anthracite. CROSWOOD PLUS profiles feature significantly higher colour saturation and UV resistance.

Profiles made of RESYSTA material are coloured on the surface, which gives them the advantage of unlimited colour possibilities. Profiles are available in the natural colour of light brown, as well as virtually any other colour – from yellow-brown, through dark brown to black-brown shades of exotic wood. It is also possible to order profiles in blue, green or extravagant red.

ATTENTION!

The colours shown above are reference colours and do not represent the actual colours in which the profiles produced by CROWOOD Sp. Z o. o. are supplied. The paints used for coating of the profiles made of Resysta composite material are semi-transparent, which means the shade of the colour of individual profiles may vary, giving an effect similar to that of exotic wood.

The water-based paints used for coating our composite profiles are completely odourless and quick-drying. Their formula has been designed specifically for our purposes, to ensure long-lasting resistance to the effects of UV rays. Thanks to that, our profiles can be used as a replacement for a wooden façade, WPC decking or urban furniture profiles.
